Waiting.

Once again, writing very quickly because I have to get ready for work soon.  So much for going in for overtime today.  But, hey, they’re lucky I’m going in at all.  I feel sick.  Yet again.  Yes, I know I get sick more than anyone you’ve probably ever known, which is why I don’t call in every time I feel nauseous.  If I did, I would never go to work.

So, I had yesterday off, which started off “eh,” just another day, then “nice” because Jim got up, and “productive” because I got some much-needed calls done.  Part of the “productive” phase, though, left a bad taste in my mouth.  See, once upon a time, as many of you know, I was married.  While we were separated, my ex and this girl (my ex-best friend–not sure if she’s currently his girlfriend now or just his official moocher now) called my bank, reported my card “lost or stolen,” and then, apparently went to town with our account.

I knew the ex and the thief had deactivated my card, but I didn’t bother with it after that because, well, in all fairness, I had my half of our money and had filed for divorce that same week, so I was done.  I also thought the ex had taken my name off the account, so I wasn’t really concerned what they had done with it at that point.   In fact, after my last court date last August, I went to the bank immediately afterward to make sure my name was off.  They told me that he had closed the account, leaving me to believe that the ex got his shit together and closed things up.  Good deal.

Or so I thought.  Yesterday afternoon, Jim and I went to go open a joint savings account, only for me to find out that they won’t let me have my name on it.  Why, you ask?  Well, apparently, my ex didn’t voluntarily close down our joint account, nor did he take my name off, as I thought he had.  No, the bank closed the account down due to abuse.  So…they get to be irresponsible and I pay the consequences.

No worries, though.  I got a number to get things all straightened out.

This was all very annoying, but, really, it’s just old stuff, and I tried to put it out of my mind.  Jim and I went out after that to go rug-shopping.  Since neither one of us are much in the way of shoppers, it was pretty quick.  So, now, we have a rug covering up at least some of our ugly tiled floor.  The cats love it.  You know there will be pictures of sleeping-cats-on-rugs on my Flickr at some point.

Anyway, the day took a really good turn from there.  But I’ll have to tell you about it later.  For one, I am waiting for…something.  And two?  I need to go to work.

TGIF!
